this is hype! thank you for putting it out there :)
this is hype! thank you for putting it out there :)
while suffering toward the end just a little with repetitiveness, overall i love the creativity, energy, and twang on that guitar, and these orchestra hits are so charming -- this track is so fun, i really like it <3
the melody of that hard synth at around 1:10 is paired soooo so well with the crunch of the drums.
i feel like it drags a liiiittle bit in the middle and doesnt really pick back up for me until the drums kick back in, which leads to a nice emotional climax and resolution!
cool song :)
contemplative, starry-eyed and just a little sensual! i really like this driving, dreamy piece.
Thank you! Driving is not something I expected to hear on this piece, but now that you mention it, it makes me want to lift weights haha
i like the tension here! I really enjoy the variance in the bass pad especially.
hope your summer goes well :D
The opening 10 seconds or so do a really good job at invoking this eerie and urgent sort of atmosphere. Then, going forward with the introduction of this loud af chunkyyy ass electric guitar, you do well to slowly kind of introduce the instrument with long and low notes. I'm grateful for that. It's a solid intro :)
I enjoy what follows, but I feel that 0:36-0:50 grates a little bit, I feel like some of these notes just aren't meshing well to my ear. I really like the transition from the noisy amplified guitar to the cleaner one at 0:53.
I was bummed when I realized that the next section was just a copy-paste of the first one! I was hoping for some cool progression, and as I sat with it again, I noticed the drums and how the bass hits seem very quiet.
I can see some cool ideas and thoughtful execution here -- I hope you keep at it!
I can see what you mean. If I could go back (which now that i'm thinking about I can lol) I'd add a little "prelude" before the first notes in the distorted guitar so it doesn't comes out of nowhere.
The grating was very much intended. I like the way dissonant notes completely change when you add heavy distortion to them, so i made it as dissonant as possible to get that effect. i even went back to change the higher notes and made them their own melody of sorts, which i think sounds good without the other note to make dissonance. you can hear each melody on their own at 0:31 seconds in on each ear (left is lower melody, while right is higher melody).
As for the progression... yeah, not even gonna lie, this song feels kinda bare-bones without other stuff in it. i honestly just made it loop 3 times so i could cut the middle part and have it as a clean loop :p
There isn't a bass in this song, but i had to use a soundfont on the drum set, which makes working which each piece of the drum kit quite compact when writing, but a nightmare when mixing. i'll see what i can do about that.
there's a guitar drone in the back of it all if you pay close attention. i think it might be a little hard to hear, so maybe i'll add more attention to it in the revision?
all in all, you've inspired me to go back and make a second version of this song. thank you.
it's got some strong pieces to it -- i think the way that you employ this sort of glitch effect is varied and remains interesting throughout the piece,, and I also like the little melodies/arpeggios sprinkled in. i can see what you mean by out of ideas, i feel the piece lacks cohesion in its elements but, idk i can see the effort and the skills being employed -- i know shit's hard rn, but the important thing is that you're still putting in the work! that's hype af, you got it!
i love this. i love how much you stretched this atmosphere and i think you did so very successfully. the climactic portion of the song shreds out of the intro and the transition is honestly so lovely and cool!!!!!!!! it seems there is some off-beat stuff throughout this final portion though, it's quite subtle but i hear it specifically at around 3:42-3:46.
thank you so much for making and sharing this! it's awesome
Good ears! Thanks for listening!
need to hear this in the club bad!!!
i think this track is soooo killer and i love it and thank you for making it!! the start to 1:10 is basically flawless.
I love what's happening at 1:24-1:42, though it hears just almosttt off-the-rails, very loosely-contained.
super fun work, i love how much you mangled the sample :D
Thank you very much one day I will put this up live :3
